Bread and eggs are common in every house to start the day. French Toasts or the Eggy Bread is common for breakfasts. The savoury version is also as common as the sweet versions. Breakfasts are never complete without eggs and bread. I always look out for variations of French Toast and this savoury version is one of my favourites.French toast is also referred to as fried bread, is served with cheese or tomato ketchup as a savoury dish. Fried Egg Toast is the common name but I wanted to add up a different taste to the regular savoury version. Here is the version for the savoury toasts with a difference ideal for kids. This is really simple and delicious recipe and is perfect for a quick snack too.
Ingredients:-
- Eggs – 2 nos.
- Onion finely chopped – 1 Tablespoon.
- Green chillies finely chopped – 1 Teaspoon.
- Salt and Pepper – to taste
- Skimmed Milk – 2 Tablespoons.
- Worcestershire sauce – a dash of sauce.
- Bread Slices – 4 nos.
- Butter- 1 Tablespoon.
Method:-
- Whisk eggs and add milk to it. Mix well and season with salt and pepper.
- Add the onions, chillies and Worcestershire sauce to it. Mix well.
- Dip each slice of bread into the mixture. Coat well on both the sides and pan fry on a buttered griddle. Repeat with the remaining slices.
- Cook till both the sides are done. Serve hot with tomato sauce or mayonnaise for breakfast or as a snack.
