After the plum jam, I proceeded to make an array of desserts with plums. Plum crumb is very simple and easy recipe that I kept making it over and over again. This well-known purple red stone fruit makes an exciting addition to your list of desserts. Plum is full of nutrients and is the summer’s prettiest fruit. Before the peak season escapes, I decided to work with them for desserts.
Like a cheery light colorful lady that deserves a starry role in a good movie, the plums were dressed with a coat of rich buttery cinnamon scented crumb top that blends very well with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream or a dollop of rich vanilla whipped cream. Cream and Ice-creams can turn your simple fruit to a luxurious dessert. This spiced cinnamon crunch crumb tastes like muffins and forms a crown overtop the tangy studded diced plums. It is a perfect dessert to end your meal that is classy and simple. So go ahead and flaunt this tasty, delicious, full of flavor dessert to your friends and family. This recipe serves six….
Ingredients:-
For the plums
- Plums diced and pitted- 12 nos.
- Natural brown sugar- 1 cup.
- All-purpose flour- half cup.
- Cinnamon- an inch pc. (Ground).
For the crumb top
- Castor sugar- 1 cup.
- Mace- 1 no. (Small).
- Soft Butter- 2 tablespoon.
- All-purpose flour- 1 cup.
- Baking powder- 1 teaspoon.
Method:-
- Combine the diced plums with half cup flour, brown sugar and ground cinnamon. Keep aside for 15-20 minutes. Grease a bake proof pan and spoon the mixture to it.
- Ground the mace with castor sugar. Combine the sugar, flour and egg till crumbly. Finally add two tablespoons of soft butter and mix well.
- Top up the crumb mixture onto the prepared plums. Do not flatten the mixture as the crumb mix will spread on its own while baking.
- Bake at 170 degrees centigrade for 30-35 minutes or till the top is brown. Serve while slightly warm or at room temperature with a dollop of cream or ice-cream.
